49.5 hours until the deadline and studio’s a mess. Literally things growing and animals crawling. Architecture students slap spiders with metal rulers and stand on stools when the mice run by.

vertical house — aude borromee and weygand architecte
the final studio project for this semester is on a 4.1m x 13.8m lot, much longer than this house but similar. sprawling estates aren’t substainable, but this is. i was reading a book on laneway housing and i liked how they worded it, though i can’t remember exactly what it was.
we’ve lost the opportunity to grow out — we can only grow up.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah how long has it been since i’ve logged on? three months?
something like that.
this semester has been strangely unexciting compared to the first, though we’ve done a bunch of interesting things… which i’ll post about later with photos because i’m lazy.
- i’ve pulled a few near all-nighters and the usual.
- my professor woke me up one morning (awkward) and i lost my pants.
- my friend got drunk in studio and ran around in boxers. coincidentally also lost his pants.
- first weeks started off with a collaborative project between all the years in the program.
we’re already half-way through! i’m considering volunteering as a cadbitch in the summer for a firm, though otherwise i’m looking for a summer job. i made dean’s list last semester, just barely, definitely not happening this time around haha. anyways, a couple of things have definitely been inspiring to me this semester and i’ll try and post them up hopefully sooner than later.

sorry for the lack of posts, everyone! just finished my (first) final studio project. placed third in my year and it was the shock of my life to be honest, i wasn’t even expecting to make the first round haha. next week is packed with exams, so see you all during the holidays! (thinking of making a blog just for japanese architecture and design, so much out there to see and love.)
